CATG (2016)

I have long been fascinated by DNA. From the outset of my teaching career, the structure, first suggested in 1953 by James Watson and Francis Crick, using a combination of reasoning, model building and the experimental results of Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin, especially interested me and particularly the processes which led up to the discovery of the structure.

As part of my teacher-training I created a learning package which involved building a 3D model of DNA which students could assemble. Surprisingly, some forty years later the model has survived.
