Polaroid Transfer

The Polaroid Transfer technique intrigued me for a few years and certainly captivated a number of students. It is several years since I did my last transfer.

The ability to be able to transfer a coloured image from 'peel-apart' Polaroid film to a surface other than the uniform gloss of the standard Polaroid print has a certain attraction. The use of a damp watercolour paper creates an impressionist image which can be subsequently worked upon using paint, crayons, pastels or other media. It seemed to me that this technique would be particularly appropriate where I wanted to make reference to earlier times or to earlier painters, such as Monet.

Sadly, with demise of Polaroid film this exact process is no longer available.
